Yes, it is mandatory for all positions. Cooks need to know to talk about their job, waiters to have conversation with passengers and front desk must have fluent english.
Food is paid, you have restaurant for crew where you can eat how much you want, also coffee , tea, water free of charge. You have shared cabin (2 crew in a room) with bathroom, tv.
Contracts are 6 months long with 2-3 months break between. While on board you will be working every day.

Yes. If ship is in a port, you can go out and visit port. When ship is at sea, there is a free gym, free swimming pool, crew bar and other amenities for crew to use in their free time.
Yes! Both your tickets to come to the ship and back home when you finish contract are paid by the company.
